About me
Hi, I’m Björn! I’m a passionate software engineer from Germany, currently living and working in Switzerland. My journey began during my academic studies, where I developed a deep love for subjects like algorithms and signal processing. While working on my bachelor’s and master’s theses at Bosch, I had the opportunity to delve deeply into image processing, and it became clear to me that I wanted to work in this field professionally.
However, my professional career started at Marquardt GmbH, an automotive supplier, and it was truly a highlight for me. It was an incredible experience. I played a key role in developing next-generation keyless entry systems, specifically responsible for designing localization and tracking algorithms. This was both exciting and challenging, as we tackled a unique problem with no widely available solutions. I worked extensively on overcoming physical issues like signal attenuation and reflections, which taught me to think creatively and push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Currently, I’m thrilled to be working at Bystronic Laser AG as a Machine Vision Engineer, where I continue to pursue my passion for image processing and algorithm development. Here, I focus on developing machine learning models and image processing algorithms for industrial laser cutting systems.
In addition to my work in engineering, I have sought particularly demanding challenges outside of my primary field. This pursuit led me to discover a deep passion for the stock market, especially futures trading. This interest has significantly reshaped both my personal and professional goals. For some time now, I have been actively involved in futures trading, gaining a profound understanding of how the markets function, as well as valuable insights into my personality. Initially, I naively believed that all one needed was a working trading approach; however, I soon realized that professional trading on the stock market represents an exceptionally challenging endeavor. It is a challenge that leaves no room for emotions and is entirely performance-oriented, regularly pushing me to my limits.
My passion for futures trading, coupled with my drive for automation and algorithm development, has led me to implement my own systems aimed at minimizing the impact of emotions on trading decisions. My current project revolves entirely around this endeavor.
